Our President and Chief Futurist Derek Woodgate, was selected for the High-Level International Advisory Board and to be the Chair for the UAE Manufacturing Industry 4.0 Summit held on 14 and 15 June in Dubai, UAE. He MC=d the event, conducted two panels and gave a keynote speech on Digital emancipation in smart and nano manufacturing.

We are proud to announce that Derek Woodgate was the Session Chair and keynote speaker on the Future of Smart Security and Safety at the 2nd Abu Dhabi Smart Cities Conference. Derek was also a member of the Supreme Advisory Counsel for this Conference. Derek was also awarded the prize of his contribution to Shaping the Cities of the Future.

Our President, Derek Woodgate had the honor of being the opening keynote at the International Conference on Organizational resilience, corporate governance, innovative entrepreneurship, and sustainable development at PMU Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia last week. His presentation was titled Emerging Techno-economic Paradigms.

The Futures Lab’s President Derek Woodgate and our professional futurist Helga Veigl both presented at the MOI Innovation Summit in February 2020 in Abu Dhabi.

Our President, Derek Woodgate gave a keynote and participated in the subsequent panel for an inspirational and very knowledgeable audience at the launch of the new program from Invendor Innovation Academy, Budapest founded and run by the inimitable Antonia Karakostova. The event covered the topics of future economic paradigms, jobs, workforce structures, and emerging skillset development and management and the role that foresight-based learning can play in this area.

TFL President and Chief Futurist, Derek Woodgate and Futurist Helga Veigl had a great conference and meetings in Abu Dhabi last week, including a session with the Deputy Prime Minister of UAE, His Excellency Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan as well as meetings at the Ministry of the Interior. Our President, Derek Woodgate opened the conference, presenting with Helga Veigl and then later on the “Future Impact of AI on Policing” and then chaired the follow-up panel.
