The Futures Lab’s President Derek Woodgate and our professional futurist Helga Veigl both presented at the MOI Innovation Summit in February 2020 in Abu Dhabi.

Our President, Derek Woodgate gave a keynote and participated in the subsequent panel for an inspirational and very knowledgeable audience at the launch of the new program from Invendor Innovation Academy, Budapest founded and run by the inimitable Antonia Karakostova. The event covered the topics of future economic paradigms, jobs, workforce structures, and emerging skillset development and management and the role that foresight-based learning can play in this area.

TFL President and Chief Futurist, Derek Woodgate and Futurist Helga Veigl had a great conference and meetings in Abu Dhabi last week, including a session with the Deputy Prime Minister of UAE, His Excellency Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan as well as meetings at the Ministry of the Interior. Our President, Derek Woodgate opened the conference, presenting with Helga Veigl and then later on the “Future Impact of AI on Policing” and then chaired the follow-up panel.

Title: Foresight as a tool for increasing creativity in the age of technology-enhanced learning

Derek Woodgate, President of TFL and Professor at University of Adger, will be presenting a paper at Makarere University in Kampala, Uganda in July 2018 at the 1st International Conference on Open Distance and eLearning (DELC). The title of his presentation is “Immersive Spatial Narratives as a Framework for Augmenting Engagement, Creativity & ODL Learning Performance”.

TFL President and Chief Futurist, Derek Woodgate will be keynoting at the 7th Innovations in Travel Modeling Conference in Atlanta on the 25th June 2018. The ITM 2018 conference is organized by the Transportation Research Board, which is a program of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. The title of the keynote presenation is: “Did Someone Say Teleportation? The Power of New Spatial Narratives”.
