Our President, Derek Woodgate will provide the keynote for the second Plenary Session at the D-TEL Symposium that will be held in Kristiansand, Norway on 8th and 9th December2016.
This symposium aims to present and discuss best practices on innovative use of digital technology in co-creation of knowledge. It will attract national and international partners, with a focus on “Learning and Education for the Future”.
The overarching theme: is How can emerging digital technology enhance co-creation of knowledge?
Woodgate’s presentation is titled: Optimizing student interaction, engagement and collaboration through blended learning.
TFL’s President, Derek Woodgate will speak and be a panelist at the World Learning Summit 2016, which will be held on 14th-16th June in Kristiansand, Norway. Amongst other subjects, Derek will discuss STEAM-based projects, as well as the potential impact of emerging multimedia technologies on the future of experiential learning.
Keynotes include: Peter Norvig, Chief scientist at Google, who pioneered the first MOOC, Michael Shanks, professor of Archeology at Stanford University and a long-time participant in various Stanford centers and labs focused on design, digital media, and technology and Keith Devlin is the Executive Director of H-Star Institute at Stanford University.
The Summit is the 6th annual conference meeting, promising to be a valuable event for academics, entrepreneurs and education leaders interested in the changing landscape of learning and education. Together we will explore the lifelong learning arc for those across the globe, and the role of networks and community in that journey.
The event is hosted and convened by the Future Learning Lab international research network – in collaboration withNorwegian Trade Association/Abelia, the City of Kristiansand, Norwegian School of Business, Oslo StartUp Lab, Oslo EdTech, Digin, Aftenposten, The Freedom of Speech Foundation, and the Arkivet Peace Foundation. Conference host is University of Agder in South Norway, in collaboration with the HStar Institute at Stanford University.
