Develop an in-depth understanding of the future potential for and impact on the motor vehicle category (based upon a 5-10 year horizon), of the issue of “personal safety and security”, in order to generate winning future opportunities and ways of leveraging and implementing such opportunities.

Develop vehicles and driver-centric systems that would be aimed at the aging population, whilst not alienating younger consumers. This should take account of aspects such as ingress-egress, comfort, vision, reaction, health monitoring. We created a number of solutions, which included a smart seat, which contained sensors to monitor and optimize posture and comfort, improve reaction and compensate conditions and many other driving-related benefits. We also developed interiors aimed at providing personally adjustable space, ambient conditions, aesthetics and sensory stimulation and enhancement. These took advantage of audio zoning, entertainment, future lighting systems, AI, etc.

To develop a future strategy that will revolutionize the concept of entertainment from the environmental, delivery and audience perspectives. A comprehensive program to leverage new artistic expression, audience experiences and engagement and venue architecture:  Interiors and exteriors suitable to emerging artistic expression and performances, such as AI and sensory interfaces, synthespians, collaborative and DIY tools, hyperdrama, hyper instruments, etc. Also, a plan to create new settings, including zoning: acoustic, light and visual; Mobility: place-shifting and time-shifting; new concepts of venue space (free form; space altering effects; reconfigurable), interactive, immersive and responsive and sensory and virtual environments.

To take advantage of digital convergence by creating a range of consumer electronics that embrace both data and entertainment simultaneously. Develop a concept platform on which to base a line of consumer electronics that will revolutionize the power of mobile devices, particularly in the areas of ITV, narrowcasting, VOD, audio and program/data management. The scope of the Newsroom of the Future Program is to change the way in which the News and Digital Media staff works together to create superb content for multiple platforms. By executing the program NPR will create a converged editorial production line (a single digital newsroom) where editors, reporters, producers can access a single system to coordinate, approve and edit content for multiple platforms. The task is to help the NPR Audience Research Department to provide insights to the “Newsroom Leadership Council” on both a future vision for the Program and how to best structure and operate such a future newsroom in the context of moving towards the company’s business objectives/projections for 2010 and beyond.
