In late September 2025, TFL made its first inroads into Kazakhstan with a four-day workshop on Strategic Management and Foresight for nearly forty government ministers from Education, Foreign Affairs, Industry, Agriculture, Information and Communications, Urban Development and Transportation, Health and Sports. The workshop was conducted by our President and Chief Futurist, Dr. Derek Woodgate, with major input from TFL futurist Helga Velga, and local futurist, Yelena Muzykina and Academy representative, Meruyert. The workshop succeeded in creating several cross-ministry initiatives, resulted in multiple new ventures for early-stage development. The support we received locally, especially from the team from the Academy of Public Service Staff was impeccable. I completed the event with a presentation on the Future of Education and Universities for the Academy personnel. We are looking forward to extending our cooperation with the Ministeries and the Academy in Astana.
